Listen is bringing liver transplant patients at King’s College Hospital together to inform, inspire and empower them along their journey.
What is Listen?
The Listen support network was launched in 2006 by King’s College Hospital’s Liver Transplant Unit professionals and volunteer post-transplant patients. Research and experience has shown that it can be helpful and reassuring for patients, their relatives and friends, to meet with someone who has had a liver transplant, see how well they are years later, and ask questions about the process.
What does Listen do?
- Monthly group support meetings via Zoom
- 1-1 conversations, face to face or by phone, email, text or video call over Zoom
- Ward Mentor rounds once a week
- Facebook Group
- Listen Lodges (inexpensive rooms are available for patients and relatives)
How do I join?
Patients can sign up to become Listen members and according to GDPR regulations, we send members invitations and information monthly by email. Click here for the application form. The form needs to be either downloaded, printed and completed to be sent by post or alternatively, once completing the form, scanned and send via email to paul.mckie@nhs.net. In the future we hope to carry out online registration.
